Assignment #1: Aperture Priority Mode

Due date: Thursday November 24th  (end of class)
In this assignment you will be taking pictures in the aperture priority mode (AV-Canon, A-Nikon) in order to learn the effects of the different f-stops.

1. Line up 3-5 similar objects in a diagonal. Use nearly identical objects—such as books, toys, purses, shoes, etc…Make sure that the objects are spaced apart enough to show the differences in focus

2. Take a total of 8 pictures starting from the lowest f-stop to highest.
3. This project will be uploaded on your Photography exposure website page
6. Insert a slideshow
7. Insert all your pictures from smallest to largest f-stop into your slideshow
8. Write for every picture a caption including the f-stop number (example: F3)
9. Under the slideshow drag a text box on your website.
  • Describe how the pictures changed from smallest to largest aperture.
  • Describe the depth of field. Is it shallow (blurry) or clear?

Assessment

  1. 8 pictures from smallest to largest f-stop, change is visible, objects are diagonal...........8 marks
  2. pictures are taken from same location, no movement.........................................................3 marks
  3. pictures are presented in  slide show with caption.............................................................3 marks
  4. description................................................................................................................................. 3 marks
